Samantha is a mixed media visual artist based out of Brooklyn, Atlanta, & the DMV.

Samantha has been shooting recreationally for 12 years, and professionally for the past 6. She was born outside of DC, lived briefly in Birmingham Alabama with her late grandfather, but has spent the majority of her life outside the perimeter of Atlanta. She developed a passion for telling stories at a young age, and has carried that passion through her adult life, and into her documentary work. She is passionate about people, culture, class, and religion. Samantha is half Korean and half Caucasian, but was raised by her single mom and older sister with little to no ties to her Korean heritage. For Samantha, growing up in the South meant a complicated relationship with religion and race. This is often times reflected in her work.

Samantha studied at The Savannah College of Art and Design, and was featured in 3 of their Open Studio Nights. She was a participant in the exhibition at The Atlanta Photography Group gallery, titled What About Us. As well as a virtual exhibition with SCAD & ACP titled Rest(less) debuting her most recent work made in quarantine. In addition to her features in exhibitions, she shot and participated in an installation on food deserts in Atlanta at the Center for Civil and Human Rights. Most recently Samantha attended a workshop studying under Barbara Peacock studying street photography in Prague.

Post college, Samantha has played several roles throughout her creative career. She has helped develop and maintain social media marketing for multiple startups. She has freelanced as a graphic designer, videographer, and content creator. She has been the resident documentarian for a highly regarded hospitality hub in Atlanta. As well as run her own freelance photography business shooting events, comedy, portraiture, weddings, and more.
